Meet your facilitators:

Rani Shah – Connection to oneself through movement has always been a pivotal interest for Rani. A dancer since young, she began teaching Belly Dance, Hip hop and Latin dance classes in her early teens and was first drawn to yoga to improve her endurance and flexibility. The surprising clarity and deep connection she experienced after each class, however, was profound.

She has since spent years teaching yoga and movement both Australia-wide and internationally across Singapore and Indonesia.

She believes a strong movement practice has the innate ability to heal and cultivate powerful, life-force energy. She holds over 500 YTT hours collectively in the practices of Vinyasa, Hatha, Animal Flow and Embodied Movement. In class, Rani loves to combine functional and somatic movements with structural and energetic alignment to create a conscious and intelligent practice to deepen the in-body experience of any level of practitioner.

Mercia – Movement has always been a large part of Mercia’s life. An athlete all through her young years, here yoga practise began at age 13, growing and changing with her as she moved through life.

With a BSc in Physiology and Nutrition, Mercia dove into the mechanics of the body and the systems that support us. Through yoga, Mercia found a way to fully integrate connection of the body, mind and spirit in one powerful practise.

Passionate about a holistic approach to health, Mercia has been facilitating Women’s Circles and community events for years, encouraging connection to self and to the local community. Mercia holds 450 YTT hours in the Ashtanga- Vinyasa system working on supporting ancient tradition with modern Science and Anatomy knowledge . She advocates for yoga as a life path, physical practise and system of ethics.

Mercia and Rani began running women’s movement and connection circles together mid-way through 2023. They are a perfect duo in facilitation, providing a wonderful balance of yin and yang, and giving a beautiful example of how uplifting and empowering strong female connections can be. Together they work to support women in cultivating a deeper connection to self, as well as practising vulnerability and self-expression in a group setting to develop skills that support self-development and deeper, more meaningful female relationships.

From 7 to 10 June, arrive any time after 1pm Friday and the retreat will conclude with lunch and a closing circle on the Monday.

Accomodation:

Connecting with each other, and coming together to support one another is more important than ever before. Let’s share our stories… being real with a community of women we can trust is one of the most amazing feelings!

The ritual of women gathering to connect and share stories is universal. It is as old as humankind itself, existing in ancient cultures worldwide.

Dive in, get a little out of your comfort zone and reap the HUGE benefit of authentic connection. Share a room with your girlfriends like you did when you were a kid. All accommodation is in spacious triple or quad share bedrooms, all with generous ensuites.

Don’t worry, there are also plenty of places in the retreat house and around the property for quiet time and personal space.

Catering:

All meals will be prepared by our in-house chef Leanne from Sustainably Nourishing.

Leanne is a Nutritional and Herbal Medicine Practitioner and Yoga teacher with over 15 years’ experience in the health and wellness industry catering for health and well-being, rehabilitation centre and yoga retreats.

Leanne uses all organic, spray free produce, locally sourced and excels at creating nourishing meals from the ground up using a range of fresh herbs and spices to accentuate flavours.

The menu will be vegan ayurvedic and is gluten and dairy free and Leanne is happy to ensure all or any further dietary requests are met. Leanne recognises the importance of food as a mode to healing and the important role it plays in making your retreat experience absolutely unforgettable.
